by andrewhassan on 12 September, 2017

Formartine Area Committee Convened today at Ellon, with a meeting dominated by Turriff issues.

We began by discussing the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Performance Report 1st April-30th June 2017.

We then agreed the Masterplan Addendum for the Land to the North of Meadowbank Road in Turriff for site OP2 – deferred at the last Area Committee.
Immediately following this, we awarded a Delegated Grant to the Planning Application for the site – for 231 Dwellinghouses and Associated Infrastructure – which promises 100% affordable housing.

We noted appeal decsisions made by the Local Review Body – for a dwellinghouse at 16 Church Terrace in Turriff and another at Land to North West of Bridgend Farmhouse in Turriff.

We acknowledged the Infrastructure Services Quarter 4 and Year End Performance Report 2016-17.

We then noted the Rural Partnership Annual Report 2016/17 and funding for 2017/18 – which notes support for Udny Green Hall, Community Action Plans for Meldrum and Tarves an the Community engagement at Udny.
The partnership will also manage the Formartine Floral Trail.

We discussed the Looked After Children Truancy & Absences Report – which is largely positive.
In Formartine there are 51 Looked After Children. There is some truancy or unexplained absence at Meldrum Academy, however in all Mid Formartine primary schools there is no truancy or unexplained absence in Q3.

We granted £543.26 from the Area Committee Budget to Turriff & DIstrict Heritage Society towards a display case for a unique artifact.

A bizzarely short Committee meeting ended after barely an hour and a half.
